First ID Johan

My mother, Geertje Nauta, was born in Friesland, a province in the north of the Netherlands. Soon after her birth her mother died and she was brought up by her grandparents.

After four years her father remarried and Geertje left her Grandparents to live with her father and stepmother.

Five children were born in the new family and, as the oldest daughter, Geertje was expected to take care of them all. She had to teach her brothers and sister  and to do the washing for the whole family.

When Geertje had children of her own, she took good care of them. Just like Geertje I take  care of my own children and for the children that I teach.
This caring I have learned from my mother.

My father, Maarten ’t Hart, was a transportation engineer in Amsterdam.
From the stories that he told me it was apparent that when he was questioned, by high ranking civil servants, Maarten did not reply. This led to a crisis in his work in Amsterdam.

Maarten found a new job in Groningen where he was responsible for developing a traffic circulation plan.
 
I have learned from my father that you should always respond to questions from your superiors.
As a music teacher I have always done this from day one. In this way I have learned to cooperate with others and I can work together with many people on various projects.

After twenty years of teaching I was contacted by Peter van der Bosch, who attended my music lessons at secondary school.
 He asked if he could work with me and from that moment we have been working together.
After seven years of cooperation we have discovered that the coarse language, that is now used in our classroom, can be prevented with one rap. This effect has been named by Peter as “Rapucation”.

From that moment our music lessons have become much more fun. Peter and I have decided that we would like to share our discovery with the rest of the world, starting with Europe.

Peter and I ask our students to write stories about their personal experiences. In writing this I have told you the story of my roots and my background, I have written my First ID.
